Places to Stay
We have tried various places to stay, whilst in Key Largo. Our favourite and
in fact where we always return to is Ocean Pointe Suites. They are in Tavernier, which is only about 10mins away from Island
Dolphin Care. When booking if you email them and ask how much a suites would be- remember to tell them you are here to attend
Island Dolphin Care and you should get a better rate. Also they do good rates for returning guests. It has a small beach on
site, and you can get food and drink in the bar/cafe. Your rooms all come with a kitchen, bathrooms, sitting area and washing
machine and tumble dryer. Which i find is a god send, as when you return jet lagged, you only have to put away clean clothes
and not have a huge washing to do. I have put a link to there website at bottom of page, so you can have a look.
We have also tried the hotel/apartment option, and found that although it was
nice, didn't give us as much space. Also you had to pay for the use of washing machines etc, and you had to either eat out,
or bring stuff back to your hotel room. We stayed in the Ramada Hotel, and again if you let them know you are going to Island
Dolphin Care for therapy you get a reduction in your rate. I have put a
link at bottom of page.
You will find that all Accommodation options in the Keys is much dearer than
say in Orlando for instance. If you are looking around for other options don't be afraid to try and haggle with the price,
also try to avoid the American School Holidays, as the Rate seems to go up.

Places to Eat
Much about the same as Accommodation, Eating in
Key Largo is dearer aswell. We found a place called Rib Daddy's, and this is just amazing for food, he also has a sister restaurant
called The Country Kitchen. Both are very highly recommended with us. Rib Daddy himself is just so family orientated. A must
try the steaks and Key Lime Pie!!! I have added a link at bottom of page.
Another must is Sundowners, and this is situated
in the Bay and you get the best view of the Key's amazing Sunsets. They really are spectacular, so is there Ribs!! Again suitable
for all the family. Links at the bottom of the page.
You must also try Tower of Pizza, it is often
used by the locals- which tells you it's good. The owner Marty, had my son making his own pizza, and cooked it for him. Really
authentic dough flying place. Pizza is to die for, amongst other items on the menu. If you go, say hi to Marty from shaun
in Scotland.
